In a team of developers, I continually developed new features and maintained a large portfolio of software projects that support both customer-facing activities and internal operations of Alpha Labs.
The projects I worked on include MVC web applications, RESTful web APIs and various automation tools.
Achievement highlights:
- Successfully integrated the PayPal Payment API into a new appointment booking system to support a set of billing and payment features
- Enhanced User Experience in multiple existing products by optimizing frequent database calls and adopting the use of AJAX to asynchronously load web contents
Relevant technologies:
Description
As part of the research team, I assisted our industrial partner HVR Technologies Inc. in improving their social media platform by coming up with a better method to calculate semantic similarity. Their goal is to capture changes to tagged text-based web contents.
Achievement highlights:
- Developed in JavaScript a text comparison algorithm that takes into account the semantic context of the texts. The algorithm revived a large amount of users' broken tags due to small-to-moderate changes

May 2021KhangNguyen.DEV is my portfolio website aimed to demonstrate my capability as a web developer and to showcase some of my notable works in the past.
This project was created as I was introduced to Next.js, Tailwind CSS and refreshing myself with cool new features of React. The website is designed with attention on the user and is applied with bits and pieces of good UI/UX practice that I picked up during my 1 year working as a software developer.
I consider this project the product of my learning journey of web development over the last 3 years. I am happy to see that this project has come to life and you are now seeing my works. I hope you enjoy my website!
InvenTurbo
May 2019 - April 2020InvenTurbo is a centralized inventory management system for small-to-medium businesses.
This project was planned, designed and implemented by my teammates and me as our capstone project at Seneca College.
The web application supports a wide range of features:
- Managing inventories on hand of different products at different locations
- Transfering inventories between locations and between businesses
- Managing your business, its locations and employees
- Controlling employees' accesses and permissions to your business with a role-based system
- A full user authentication and account management system
Moroccan Volunteer Emergency Service (MO:VES)
May 2019 - August 2019MO:VES is a Progressive Web App (PWA) created to help ensure safety and information accessibility for volunteers in Morocco.
The project was a collaboration between Business Academy Aarhus and Seneca College as part of the 2019 Summer Exchange Program in which students travelled to Aarhus, Denmark to learn and create a real-life PWA.
The project's requirement was a web application that can:
- Be installed on mobile or tablet devices
- Work well with a throttled internet connection or completely offline
- Fetch and cache contents dynamically from multiple API endpoints or potentially from a CMS
- Provide multilingual support with extensibility to any numbers of languages
